Interior Design is for everybody - you don't need to be super rich to appreciate & desire great design. At Monkey & Pickle, I'm all about helping you to create your own style, a place you'll love to live in - not a show home.
It revolves around what you love, who uses the room, when and to do what. Function is as important as beautiful design. From complete room designs to adding those finishing touches - it can make all the difference.
Interior Design is for everyone.

Miss B had been in her new build house for 4 years and had all the big things sorted - furniture, carpets, walls painted etc. However, life had taken over and all the 'finishing touches' had gone by the way side, she felt that her rooms weren't 'finished' and lacked a sense of cosiness and homeliness. She realised she didn't have the time or vision to decide what to do in each room. Having discussed colours and styles together, I pulled together options on how to finish her dining room - adding colour & wallpaper along with accessories and artwork. Details and pricing on all items as well as visuals to see the space finished were provided in this service.
We repeated this service for 3 other rooms and then Miss B decided to get me to source the items & tradespeople for her as well. After pics to follow!
This lovely client knew the colours she wanted to use in a large open plan space, but didn't know how to pull it together. This room has multiple uses from Xbox & TV to crafting and homework. It also functions as a utility room with washer and dryer in a cupboard and ironing and drying clothes to deal with. Creating a product board for the room gave her a visual board to show how all items work together. In addition there are layout boards for each separate room area to demonstrate where to hang the shelves, how to position the rug and where to place the artwork and accessories. Example style shots of each paint technique/storage solution are supplied as well as full room layouts, individual product prices and links and paint, wallpaper and fabric samples. So everything you need to get cracking straight away!
About to become new parents, this couple wanted their master bedroom to be a cocoon where they could feel calm, cosy and away from it all. With a blank canvas having just converted & extended the room, two different mood boards were created to achieve the objectives and give the clients a choice as to the best style, colour scheme and feel for the space. The first was Eastern Sunset - a warm colour palette inspired by sunsets accented by brass tones. The alternative was a Tropical Glamour scheme taking you away from it all encompassing palm patterning and deep blues and greens. The chosen option is above and the couple proceeded to implement this themselves with brilliant results - check my project gallery out for pics!
I'm on holiday from 18th February until 1st March 2022.
